I can hardly believe that school is starting next week. This summer has flown by and we are now staring down the last few days of summer vacation. Though school starting can be a drag I am excited because we are launching our new ministry values for the year. Jon and I have been working over the past month by designing, cultivating language and shaping vision that will challenge the youth of NBC. Here is what we have come up with…Be Real – Act Real – Live Real. Everything that we do this year in bric. ministries will fall into one of these three areas.
Be Real: able to be open and honest before ourselves, our community and our creator God, allowing LIFE-CHANGE to take place.
Act Real: approach God as people rooted in an authentic Christian COMMUNITY where honesty, trust, and responsibility are encouraged through accountability.
Live Real: reflect a MISSIONAL worldview that incarnates Christ in our present culture, accepting the call of Christ to live immersed in the world without becoming a product of it.
I am excited to see how the teens will respond to what God is doing in the world. Hopefully these values will help us focus in on what God’s wants for us.
